The software program contains a wide variety of templates to help you choose a design for your newsletter which can then be customized in any way you want. To get started open Microsoft Publisher and scroll down the Publication Types section bottom left to find the newsletters option on the menu.
Choose the design that is closest to the one that you want. You will be given the option to change the colors for your layout, the font scheme and the page size. In each text box, you can enter your own information by typing it in or by copying it from a word document and pasting it into your text box. On the main menu, you will find all the tools you need to select the font, font size and appearance of the text.
If you click on the outside of the text box, you can use your mouse to adjust the width and height to fit your page. Need more help? Expand your skills. Get new features first. You generally start by typing in any of the text boxes you need or want to change. Word templates have been set up by creating one or more columns and by then inserting a series of text boxes that contain standard text or graphic boxes containing pictures inside of those columns.
Editing the columns works the same exact way as editing the heading, just click in the text box and begin typing the text you want. You can also copy and paste text into a text box from another document. Each newsletter template in Microsoft Word comes with pre-selected images already loaded in the newsletter. You can make changes to the images by clicking on the current image. Using this menu you can adjust the brightness or contrast of the image.
You can also create shadow affects or resize the picture to specific dimensions. You can add something from clip art or your own photos by clicking on any picture in the template you want to change. In the clip art search menu select or type the clip art you want and click go.
Then just click on the clip art you want and Word will insert it in place of the current image. Word inserts the picture and also resizes it so that it fits perfectly into your newsletter. Tips for printing your publication.
Find, create, or change a template in Publisher. The Profile newsletter template is the starting point for the newsletter that is shown in this article. Important: You must first be connected to the Internet before you search Office Online for templates. In the Search for templates box, type a keyword. For example, type newsletters. Note: The Search for templates box is above the Newsletters heading.
Note: If you use a template that you downloaded from Office Online, you cannot customize the design until you open the publication. Under Customize , click the business information set that you want, or create a new one. Under Options , click One-page spread if you plan to print your newsletter one-sided, or click Two-page spread if you want to work with a design that includes facing pages and you plan to print your newsletter two-sided or on tabloid-sized paper.
Under Options , select the Include customer address check box if you want the customer address on the newsletter itself for mailing rather than on a separate envelope.
In the Page Options task pane, under Columns , click the number of columns that you want on each page. On the inside pages for example, pages 2 and 3 of a 4-page newsletter , the Select a page to modify list appears.
To learn more about about working with columns, see Set up text columns by using layout guides. Right-click to select the placeholder text, point to Change Text , click Text File , click the file that contains the text that you want to use, and then click OK.
